Gari

Gari (also known as Chloe Villamayor) is a Filipino-American interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, whose work explores the role of the body in physicalizing the internal, intangible, and ephemeral. Her eclectic art-pop sound hybridizes classical composition training, hook-driven singer-songwriter sensibilities, experimental vocal techniques, and custom gesture-controlled technology through Max/MSP programming.

Her debut album, Is it mine? If my name was ___, is it mine? (2024) is an introspective genre-fluid work featuring gritty yet delicate vocals, electroacoustic soundscapes blending chamber ensembles and digital synths, and a two-part dance music video series in collaboration with Movement in Motion Collective.

Chloe graduated from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in 2025 with a B.M. in Composition, studying under Ted Hearne, Nina Young, Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother), and Tom Hall. She is currently pursuing an M.M. in Music Composition at USC.
