Chloe Villamayor

BIO

Chloe Villamayor is a Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist whose works explore the role of the body in the physicalization of the internal and intangible. She believes art is not simply a reflection of the world but a tool to heal it and creates opportunities for people to transform what's within into movement and growth. Her works span diverse sound worlds, from avant-garde electronics and Max MSP programming to her art-pop solo project, Gari, as well as contemporary concert music to performance art. She has worked with ensembles including members of the International Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Loadbang, and midwest emo band Frat Mouse. Additionally, she has collaborated with choreographers from USC’s Kaufman School of Dance, and filmmakers from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Chloe received her Bachelor’s degree in music composition at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where she has studied with Christopher Trapani, Ted Hearne, Nina Young, Tom Hall, and Camae Ayewa Dennis (Moor Mother).
